I'm Vanessa, a portrait photographer based in Wednesbury, near Birmingham. I specialise in Boudoir, Maternity, Family, Newborn, Milestones/Cake Smash, and Headshot photography.
My passion for photography ignited at a young age when my grandmother gifted me a Polaroid camera. This gift sparked a lifelong fascination with capturing moments and telling stories through images.
In 2011, I invested in my first professional camera and began documenting my travels and the diverse people I encountered. However, it wasn't until 2019, after the birth of my first child, that I discovered my true calling in Newborn and Child Photography. During the 2020 pandemic lockdown, unable to access professional services, I immersed myself in learning the art of newborn photography. This endeavour led to capturing my children's milestones and eventually, the milestones of friends and family.
By December 2022, I took a bold step towards my passion, transitioning into professional photography. In February 2023, I established my own studio, realising a dream I had never imagined possible.
Professional Background
Before pursuing photography full-time, I spent seven rewarding years as a Leisure Operations Manager, Fitness Coach, and Personal Trainer at the Pan Peninsula in Canary Wharf, London. This role allowed me to work with high-profile clients and celebrities, enriching my professional experience. Relocating to the West Midlands after starting my family enabled me to be closer to loved ones and explore new opportunities.
The image of me competing in a fitness event reflects my dedication and discipline—qualities I bring to all aspects of my life, including photography. While I no longer compete, I maintain a commitment to excellence that influences my work ethic and client interactions.
Empowering Women
Empowering women has always been a driving force in my life. My background in fitness was fueled by a desire to help others feel confident and strong. This passion seamlessly translates into my photography, where I aim to make every woman feel beautiful and empowered.. Many of my clients travel from across Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, and the West Midlands for my all-inclusive portrait experiences. They come not just for beautiful images, but for a relaxed, luxury environment where every detail is taken care of, from hair and makeup to wardrobe and wall art.
A Personal Note
As a mother of three young children, ages 3, 4, and 5 and an 8 year old Chihuahua who holds a special place in our family, I deeply appreciate the fleeting nature of childhood moments. These experiences have instilled in me invaluable patience and a profound understanding of the importance of capturing genuine, unposed interactions.
I recognise that children are naturally energetic and may find it challenging to remain still. Rest assured, I am committed to capturing their vibrant personalities, even in motion. Should your newborn require comforting during our session, we have ample time to accommodate their needs, allowing you to relax and enjoy a warm beverage.
Newborn photography is particularly dear to me; I find it both calming and rewarding. I cherish these moments and am honored to help you preserve them.
